NYC DOHMH Virtual Hiring Event –City Seasonal Aide –NYC Cleanup Corps –July 29th and 30th

The Bureau of Veterinary and Pest Control Services (VPCS) promotes and protects the health and quality of life for New York City residents and visitors by ensuring an environment free from animal-borne diseases, hazardous, and nuisances. VPCS in conjunction with other city agencies works collaboratively in monitoring and controlling rats in New York City's neighborhoods. The VPCS is happy to announce we are hiring for The City Cleanup Corps (CCC). The CCC is an economic recovery program to create jobs and make NYC the cleanest, greenest city in the United States. CCC workers will help keep NYC clean and rat-free by tending to community gardens, beautifying public spaces, and work with community organizations to clean their neighborhoods.

Helena Rubenstein Scholarship

The Helena Rubinstein Continuing Education Scholarship Fund for Career Advancement is open to individuals who seek to advance their careers through education and training and who do not have access to other sources of funding that can pay for tuition and fees. Students that are unemployed, seeking a career change, or looking to advance their career through education are encouraged to apply. The scholarship covers up to 90% of the certificate program tuition.

Creative Advertising and Media Program (C.A.M.P.) @ Deutsch NY

Students have missed out on a lot of learning opportunities due to Covid. And, this virtual space allows us to share the world of Advertising with as many of them as possible through a free, virtual, week-long intensive.

Here are some details to know…

  • The program will be free and open to all rising talent looking to learn about the Advertising industry who can commit to the full week-long program August 2 nd  – August 6 th
  • The week will consist of about 3-4 hours over the course of each business day of 101 classes on various ad agency disciplines, panel discussions, a hackathon, etc. - all taught by Deutsch employees

Come prepared to meet a community of experts and alumni, who can help mold a bespoke approach to your career, connecting the dots between your education, your dreams, and your next step forward.

  • Students can benefit from one-on-one sessions with key employers or more informal group sessions, like keynotes and panels.
  • Each employer will have a virtual booth, which includes a company description, resources, and an event list. Each booth will also include a list of representatives that may be booked for 10-minute one-on-one conversations that will take place on the day of the fair.
  • Fair attendees will be prompted to submit resumes upon registration for the chance to be pre-selected by employers for one-on-one conversations on the fair date. If pre-selected, students will be notified via email prior to the fair.
  • If not selected, students can still drop resumes at employer booths and will enjoy panel participant sessions, keynote speakers, reviewing employer booths, and resume building sessions
  • Students will be able to explore employer booths once they go live on August 17th at 12:00 pm EST and can access resources, live events. At that point, students will also be able to book 10-minute personal conversations with employers leading up to the event.

CUNY Hackathon

Launched in February of 2014, the CUNY Hackathon is a yearly tech event that unites students from all CUNY colleges. Students team up to participate in workshops, learn new technologies, create projects and compete for cool prizes. Top teams/projects have gone on to launch startups and enter other competitions.

Girls Who Invest is a nonprofit aiming to close the gender gap in the investment management industry by providing investment education and internship experiences to women of all backgrounds interested in the world of finance.
